Realistically, too many people wait until a disease or illness is dangerously far advanced before they seek medical assistance. Not because they are ignoring the problem or avoiding treatment, but because they simply are not aware of the warning signs. And in many cases, the situation is complicated by language barriers.

Seeking positive steps toward solving this complex challenge is the goal of The Medical Awareness Institute- MAI.

The Medical Awareness Institute (MAI) publishes and distributes multilingual preventative healthcare information containing the warning signs of Cancer, Diabetes, Heart Disease and other life threatening illnesses. These directories also contain lists of "same culture" health care professionals who speak their own language.

MAI's approach to preventative healthcare is a practical grassroots strategy, working closely with businesses who can provide vital health information to their staff, as well as coordinating programs through community organizations that represent the diverse cultural clusters that vary from city to city across America.

MAI's positive, proactive approach to healthcare promotes healthier lifestyles with the combined benefits of a healthier community and reduced healthcare costs, and also works to reduce employee sick leave hours lost.

Basic, easy-to-understand information provides both the essential healthcare story on the most prevalent diseases and ailments, and guidance to available healthcare locations right in their own community.
