Recently Patrick Lawler, Founder of the Medical Awareness Institute, cancelled open heart surgery to validate another heart disease remedy. His unique understanding of the arterial system and his "Maverick Attitude" led to the creation of his Plaque Reduction Program and a monitoring process that measures heart improvements without any invasive procedures. The severity of his heart disease is well documented and will be reevaluated and updated here throughout the study.

The current, near-fatal, heart condition if reversed will provide economical worldwide health benefits for women and other high risk candidates. We are now seeking generous sponsors so that we can better document his progress and help others along our journeys.

Note that the arteries in black show blood flow and those in grey are restricted and have minimal circulation as noted in the following reports.

Patrick Lawler risked his life to develop a breakthrough heart study rather than undergo quadruple bypass surgery scheduled November 2007.

He gambled his life and cancelled bypass surgery to prove that heart attacks and strokes can be prevented!

Bypass graft surgery creates new pathways around narrowed or blocked arteries so that more blood and oxygen flows to the heart muscle or to the extremities. This surgery uses segments of veins or arteries taken from another part of the body to bypass arteries that are blocked or narrowed. It diverts blood flow past the blockage in the artery allowing more blood and oxygen to flow to the heart or extremities (legs or feet).

Right Coronary Artery: This is a codominant vessel, with 70% ostial disease and 50% mid vessel disease

An EBU 3.75 guiding catheter, 6 French, without side holes, was utilized to cannulate the left main. Multiples wires were used to try to cross the total occlusion of the LAD, without success.

Left Anterior Descending Artery: This is totally occluded after a large simple perforator.

Circumflex Coronary Artery: This is a codominant vessel which appears to have a 60% tubular stenosis and a smaller first obtuse marginal branch and tandem 70% lesions, the second one which was somewhat ulcerated, and a large second obtuse marginal branch.

Note the significant circulatory improvements in only 5 months below!   The small black readings were taken 11-7-07 and the red measurements were taken 4-21-08. Plaque was reduced and circulation was improved. As the leg arteries improve so do the hearts. Recent tests (64 slice Cat Scan) indicate 90% more blood flow through the LAD
